When a visitor leaves comments on the Events posts, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
When a visitor sends an email via the Contact Us page, their email address and any information they send will be be forwarded to the DMDA email address and shared with University of York members connected with the Museum. No data will be used or shared outside the scope of the Museum without express permission.
If you upload or send images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
